Tuition and Administrative Fees for Mainstream Schooling - Student Visa Subclass 500 (based on one academic year)

The following fees and charges are for students studying in Canberra government schools on Student Visa Subclass 500.

* This fee covers school tuition plus the Parental Voluntary Contribution, mainstream curriculum materials and activities, textbook hire, required school uniform and consumable charges. It does not include the cost of materials used by students to make items which they take away from school, non-curriculum excursion costs, and any additional support and service fees that may be incurred by students with additional needs.

Please Note: late payment of tuition fees by returning students will incur a $600 surcharge (GST inclusive).

Continuing students will receive an invoice in Term 4 each year from their school international coordinator for the following year's tuition fees.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Allianz Premium A$550 - $665 per year

OSHC premium is not an ACT Government charge - the Directorate collects this fee on behalf of OSHC Allianz. OSHC must be purchased before the student visa is granted, and must cover the full length of the student visa. This fee is subject to change without notice.

    Homestay Placement Fee - Payable before the student arrives.
  • A$200 (GST Inclusive)
    Homestay Transfer Fee - Payable at each homestay transfer.
  • A$300*/week (GST Inclusive)
    Full board Homestay with a Canberra family - for students 15 years and over and studying on a student visa subclass 500.
    Fees are payable in advance to Homestay family and are paid fortnightly. Fees may be subject to change.
    Students will be notified in writing of any changes in homestay fees.
  • A$200 (GST Inclusive)
    Airport Pickup Fee - Payable before the student arrives.
    Note: A minimum of 7 days advance notice is required for airport pickup service.
    Service is for weekdays and for Canberra Airport only.
  • A$2,200* (Approximately)
    International Baccalaureate - registration/examination fees (optional and non refundable)
    Payable in smaller amounts at the time of examinations during the program.

The following fees and charges are for students studying in Canberra government schools as a short term student. The study period for these charges is for 5 - 10 weeks only.

The following fees and charges are for the dependants of temporary residents who are not eligible for fee exemption.
