Parents/carers are welcome to enrol/transfer their child at any time during the school year using the Education Directorate's online application form. The Education Directorate's Enrolment Policy (pdf, 284kb) provides an outline of the enrolment process in the ACT.
All ACT children are guaranteed a place in an ACT Public School, from preschool through to college. Information about the enrolment assessment criteria and priority enrolment areas can be found at https://www.education.act.gov.au/school_education/enrolling_in_an_act_public_school.
Enrolment applications for 2020
Enrolment applications for 2020 open on Monday 29 April 2019 at 6:00am and must be submitted online using the Education Directorate's online application form. The closing date for 2020 enrolments is Friday 7 June at 9:00am.
All ACT children are guaranteed a place in an ACT Public School, from preschool through to college.

If you are applying to enrol in preschool, year 7 or year 11 we ask that you submit your application by 7 June 2019 to support timely processing and school planning. From 29 July 2019, parents/carers will commence receiving advice from the school on the enrolment.
Priority Enrolment Area (PEA)
In keeping with the Directorate Enrolment Policy, Margaret Hendry School accepts student enrolments in the following priority order:
- Students who live in Margaret Hendry School's PEA & ACT resident siblings of students concurrently enrolled at the school
- ACT resident students outside of Margaret Hendry School's PEA
- NSW resident students
The suburbs of Moncreiff and Taylor fall in the PEA for Margaret Hendry School. Casey is a shared PEA zone with Gold Creek School which allows families living in Casey to enrol at either school. Students living in the PEA for Margaret Hendry School are guaranteed enrolment in the school (Preschool - Year 6).
