Construction of the new high school in North Gungahlin, centrally located in the suburb of Taylor is progressing .

The school’s official name will be announced in autumn 2024, and a community consultation process on the school’s logo and uniform design will follow.

The school will cater for up to 800 year 7 to 10 students and provide high-quality general and specialist learning environments.

The new high school responds to the rapid growth in Gungahlin, one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia and demonstrates the ACT Government’s commitment to ensuring every child can attend a great, accessible school,  providing high-quality education in our growing city.

It is anticipated that the new high school will be ready for term 1 in 2025. . A school Principal is expected to  be appointed in autumn 2024.

The PEA for the new high school in Taylor will be the same as the existing PEA for Margaret Hendry School: Taylor, Moncrieff and part of Jacka (North of Appleford Ave).
