New Educator Induction Program

The New Educator Induction Program is a five-day event that welcomes and formally inducts New Educators into the Education Directorate. This program was also offered to teachers who are new to the ACT Public School system. This year, the inaugural program welcomed more than 200 teachers.

The Directorate is committed to enabling all of our teachers to have the best supports to be successful in their teaching careers. This comprehensive induction program provides the foundation for quality induction into the teaching profession and establishes the path for continual development of teaching practice required to meet the educational needs of all students.

The induction provides an overview to learning and teaching across the ACT, including the Directorate’s Future of Education Strategy that:

A whole day has been dedicated to Cultural Integrity workshops. These sessions encapsulate the Directorate’s vision for Reconciliation. The vision is genuinely collaborative and fosters meaningful partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. It is based on respect, trust, relationships and opportunities.
