Lake Tuggeranong College students raised more than $1000 for Roundabout Canberra, a charity providing essential items for babies and children from families in need.

Roundabout Canberra CEO Hannah Andrevski said this was the largest event and donation that an ACT school has organised for the charity.

“Roundabout Canberra provides safe, high quality essential baby and children's items to families in need because every child deserves a safe start and every family deserves dignity,” Ms Andrevski said.

Funds were raised through the annual Lake Tuggeranong College Market Day.

The students tapped into their passions and reached out to local Tuggeranong businesses collecting 15 donations ranging up to $275 that were given away as prizes at the annual market day.

“It’s inspiring to see young people in our local community giving back and learning the importance of helping others in need through their community connections.

The donation made by the College will provide safe, high-quality cots, prams, car seats, linen and clothing for people in the local community.
