The Year 10 Excellence Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the High School Years are the largest celebration of student achievement for Canberra public schools. They have been a regular event on the school calendar since 1999.
This year’s Awards were held on Monday 21 November 2022 at The Playhouse Theatre and hosted by the energetic and inspiring Timomatic, a former Narrabundah College student.
At the event, the Minister for Education and Youth Affairs, Yvette Berry, presented 72 ACT public school students with Year 10 Excellence certificates and a $50 book voucher donated generously by the foundational sponsor, Paperchain Bookstore in Manuka.
Each student is nominated by their school principal for their exceptional qualities outlined in Goal 2 of the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration. The awards are presented from the following categories:
- a successful lifelong learner
- a confident and creative individual
- an active and informed member of the community.
What a wonderful event to celebrate the amazing achievements of our year 10 students.
