2020 ACT Public Education Awards

The annual ACT Public Education Awards recognise and celebrate people who have made a difference in ACT public education.

Director General Katy Haire said there are so many exceptional people within our public schools and the education support office who go above and beyond to make a difference to the lives of our students and school communities.

“2020 has been a tough year on many fronts but often it is when faced with challenges that we see our people really shine.

“I encourage you to think about what has been achieved this year and the work that staff and volunteers have put in to make that happen when you consider making a nomination.

Last year saw an inspiring and dedicated group of people awarded, whose passion for education really shone through. This included the 2019 New Educator of the Year, Francis Ventura who said the best thing about his job is “the absolute fantastic, wonderful, sassy, fun, curious and intelligent young people that we have the honour of working with every day.”

The ACT Public Education Awards are presented in 11 categories. Nominations close on 30 September and anyone can make a nomination.
