Training for educators to support children affected by trauma
Set up for Success: An Early Childhood Strategy for the ACT includes providing training to early childhood education and care educators to support children affected by trauma.
The Education Directorate engaged Australian Childhood Foundation to develop a suite of resources for the early childhood education and care sector to support workforce capability in trauma responsive practice.
This trauma informed training is designed to build understanding, strengthen existing practices, and create networks in early childhood education and care to enhance the learning, development, and wellbeing of all children.
Online Training Modules: Trauma Responsive Practice in Education and Care
The online training package is 11 modules exploring understandings of trauma and practical strategies for responding to children. The training is open to all educators for a small cost. More information about the training including how to access it is in the information flyer (160kb).
