Early Childhood Degree Scholarship Program
Since the implementation of the National Quality Framework the ACT Government has been working closely with the early childhood education and care sector to manage the ongoing developments, with particular attention being given to the changes in qualification requirement for early childhood educators.
In order to support the sector's commitment to continuous improvement under the NQF and against the National Quality Standard, the ACT Government delivers the Early Childhood Degree Scholarship Program where recipients are provided up to $6,000 over four consecutive years towards costs associated with attaining the early childhood teaching qualification, including:
- purchase of leave for study release or attendance at classes
- residential schools or practicum placements
- Course-required materials, equipment, text books and other learning aids, and learning support services such as tutoring.
Degree Scholarships under this program have been awarded in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The program is currently closed to new applicants while a review and restructure of the program is undertaken. Information about the recommencement of the Degree Scholarship Program will be listed here in the near future.
Email CECA@act.gov.au for further information on the scholarship program.
ACECQA provides a range of resources to support the role of the educational leader in early childhood education and care services.
The resources are grouped under each quality area of the National Quality Standard, with the Quality Area 1 resources being particularly useful in leading the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment and planning cycle at your service.
