Human Services Blueprint Human services means the network of supports that respond to a person's needs including services relating to public/social housing, health and wellbeing, education, disability, childcare, care and protection and youth/adult justice. The way that human services in the ACT are delivered and accessed by people in need is changing - for the better. The ACT Government and the community sector have developed the Human Services Blueprint - a plan that will guide how services and supports are provided so that people get the best outcomes for their circumstances. For more information visit the Community Services - Human Services Blueprint website.

Volunteers and Visitors

Volunteers and visitors support schools, students and educational programs. Volunteers have a special place in schools and assist in many ways. This may include interaction with individuals and small groups of students in a range of different activities. The Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 (the Act) commenced on 8 November 2012, with individuals working or volunteering in 'Activities or Services for Children' having until 7 November 2013 to become registered.
