WorldSkills highlights young Australian's skills excellence through trade competitions. These are unique opportunities to showcase the talents of apprentices, trainees, VET students, and school and college VET students of Australia on Regional, National and International levels.
WorldSkills Australia regional competitions are held in 29 regions throughout Australia. Competing allows students to build confidence to achieve their dreams and gives them a great opportunity to excel within their career.
Opportunities exist at both the school and post school levels.
The WorldSkills Australia Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program is a series of work simulated projects based on industry standard frameworks which are designed and administered by practising teachers and industry professionals.
The competitions are open for students still attending secondary schools and colleges undertaking a VETiS course.
The WorldSkills VETiS Competitions benefit the school, local community and associated industries.
Categories include Automotive Services, Business Services, Commercial Cookery, Construction, Electrotechnology, Food & Beverage, Information Technology, Metals & Engineering, Primary Industries, Retail and Tourism.
