Introduction to the Policy Webpage
The new Policy Webpage provides one point of access to locate policies, procedures, guidelines and other supporting implementation materials. The Policy Webpage has been developed to simplify and improve access to policies by grouping related policies under common themes and search categories, providing a key word search option and retaining the use of the A-Z title search feature. Each policy will also be progressively published as a text based web page with print friendly options.
Most policies have also now been transferred into the new policy template format. The original intent of those policies has not changed.
All policies relate to the administration of ACT public schools and the corporate policies applicable to the Education Directorate.
To find one or more policies:
- Browse this page for lists of policy, procedure and guideline documents grouped under categories and topic headings.
- Please click or tab through headings in BLUE to see all policy, procedure and guideline documents.
- Use the keyword search and A-Z list options in the right column
Policy reviews
A number of policies have been identified for review in 2016. The Directorate looks forward to engaging with schools, parents and the community in this important work.
Feedback welcomed
The Directorate acknowledges that some refinement will be required over time and welcomes feedback to support the ongoing development of the Policy Webpage. Please direct this feedback to DET.Governance@act.gov.au.
Who are policy contacts?
Policy contacts are Directorate staff who provide detailed information about specific policies. Policy contacts are often the subject matter experts. They are responsible for conducting policy development and review activities.
How we use policies?
Policies are used to guide Directorate procedures and provide consistent information to stakeholders. Schools use policies as a basis to develop school-based procedures that reflect the individual needs of schools.
