Schools, teachers, school staff, and community service providers have worked hard to get ready for remote learning for term 2 to start from Tuesday 28 April.

Thank you to parents and families for your efforts during this time and for looking after your children’s wellbeing.

Now that we are ready for term 2, the ACT Education Directorate along with schools will begin to look at how and when we can transition back to face-to-face learning. At this stage, we don’t know when this transition will happen.

We want to make sure that when this does happen, we are ready for it and that it can be as smooth as possible for students and families.

We will make sure that parents and families have plenty of notice before schools transition to face-to-face education, and that the community know how it will happen.

We would like to thank the Canberra community for your patience during this pandemic.

Term 2 arrangements

Term 2 commences in the ACT on Tuesday 28 April. From the start of Term 2, all ACT public schools will deliver remote learning. This means all public school students will access a remote learning program which is designed and delivered by their usual classroom teacher(s).

We are asking families to support their children to do this learning from home. Where this is not possible, the ACT Education Directorate has made 9 schools available as Safe and Supervised Sites.

At a Safe and Supervised site, students from surrounding areas will be supported to access their remote learning program by a team of teachers, staff and a community services organisation.

Every school Principal and classroom teacher is still working hard to support their students and will provide everything that students need to continue receiving a high-quality education during this period of remote learning.

Families who have any questions about their child’s education in term 2 should contact their child’s usual school in the first instance.
