New educators

With the first day of Term 1 less than two weeks away, preparations for the upcoming school year are in full swing. This includes the annual New Educator Induction Program, which started today.

More than 150 teachers are joining ACT public schools this year - from new career starters through to seasoned educators who’ve recently moved to the ACT, and everyone in between.

The Education Directorate is committed to enabling all of our teachers to have the best supports to be successful in their teaching careers.

Our comprehensive induction program provides the foundation for quality induction into the teaching profession and establishes the path for continual development of teaching practice required to meet the educational needs of all students.

This year, the new educator induction event will look a little different, with the introduction of measures to adhere to COVID-safe guidelines. For the next three days, the induction program will continue at Erindale College Theatre with key Directorate experts presenting important information and topics for our new educators.

The induction is the first in a variety of programs for new educators, designed to guide, support and empower them during the early years of their teaching careers.
