ACT public school students and teachers will begin returning to classrooms across Canberra from Monday 18 May.

Thanks to the great work of the community to restrict the transmission of COVID19, our ACT public school students and teachers can start attending school from Monday 18 May.

The three stage return of face to face learning is:

Registrations for Safe and Supervised Sites will close on Sunday 10 May and they will cease operation on Friday 15 May. From Monday 18 May, all students who were registered for Safe and Supervised Sites will be able to attend their usual school, irrespective of their year level, where they will be supervised to engage in remote learning with their usual teachers and classes until their respective year level returns to face-to-face education.

Students and teachers with chronic health conditions or compromised immune systems will be allowed to remain studying/working from home.

We appreciate the patience and support we have received from families and school communities during this period of remote learning.

Now we have certainty around our back to school plan we encourage students to continue with remote learning at home until their year is scheduled return to school.

We all need to keep working together to deliver the best possible education for Canberra’s students while ensuring we all stay safe.
