The design for the refresh of a portion of Florey Oval adjacent to Florey Primary School has now been finalised.

This refreshed part of Florey Oval will provide an engaging space for Florey Primary students to enjoy as part of their learning and play from Term 1, 2024.
The upgrade will provide:
- seating
- shaded, green spaces
- a special sensory garden
- a pump track for bike riding
- goal posts and
- an irrigated lawn oval for play and recreation.
The final design also includes Ngunnawal elements such as the Buru (kangaroo) tracks path and the yarning circle which will be named after Aunty Violet Sheridan.
Outside of school hours, this public space will enable the community to relax, exercise and connect.
Thank you to everyone from Florey Primary School, the local community and the Ngunnawal community who provided the design team with feedback and ideas.
The Education Directorate looks forward to delivering a new accessible, engaging, outdoor space that promotes a healthier lifestyle for students and the community.
Construction will begin in July 2023.
