College teacher Sam Davies is the face of ACT education – appearing in a national campaign to inspire others to join the profession he loves.
Sam, from the University of Canberra’s Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra, is one of eight teachers from across Australia appearing in the Be That Teacher 
campaign.
Last week he took a day out from teaching to attend the launch of the campaign which was announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Be That Teacher is a joint Australian, state and territory government initiative aiming to showcase the value and importance of teachers and encourage people to consider a career in teaching. It features the stories of real teachers like Sam.
“I love being a teacher. Every day we have the opportunity to make a real and positive difference in the lives of our young people,” Sam said. “I hope that anyone considering a career in teaching will be touched by these remarkable stories, and that they will see how fulfilling this profession is.”
