Pre-Learner Driver Licence Course Teacher Facilitation Program

The Education Directorate values the role that the Pre-Learner Driver Licence Course plays in supporting learning opportunities for ACT public school students.

Delivered over two days to years 10 to 12 students, the course is now the designated curriculum for delivery in ACT public schools and has replaced the Road Ready program. It is the mandatory course for all ACT citizens to obtain a Learners Licence.

The course is more than just a training session for students to learn about the ACT road rules. The course also helps students learn how to be a safe, accountable and responsible members of the ACT road-user community. The course is designed on world’s best-practice, learner driver education, and is a key component of the ACT’s Graduated Licensing Scheme.

To deliver this course, teachers need to complete mandatory training which is available on the Service Portal Pre-Learner Course page External Link (link accessible only to ACT public school teachers).
