Current annual tuition fees for international students are:
- $4,200 preschool;
- $11,100; primary school (Years K-6);
- $14,500 in high school (Years 7-10); and
- $16,200 in college (Years 11-12).
There is a non-refundable application fee - of $265.
Fee waivers
The Directorate charges tuition fees for school-age dependants of temporary residents, on a cost recovery basis. In cases of demonstrated financial hardship or a significant, unanticipated change in circumstances after visa grant then fees may be waived for a specified period. Requests, outlining issues and evidence, should be emailed to ieu@act.gov.au. Refer to Fee Waiver Guidelines (166kb) for further information.
Fee exemptions
No international tuition fees are charged for the school-age dependants of temporary residents who hold particular visa classifications. These include:
- Employment related visas based on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL), noting that these lists are regularly updated. The primary visa holder must be living and working in the ACT.
- Partner, Carer or Adoption visas.
- Higher Education visas if study is being undertaken by research (as distinct from coursework) or a full Australian Scholarship is awarded. The primary visa holder must be living and studying in the ACT.
Applicants must submit a Fee Exemption Application form for each student and supporting documents for the primary visa holder and student dependent/s listed against the Visa subclasses - International students - Education (act.gov.au) to ieu@act.gov.au for assessment.
